Newbie both on forum and with FB’s

Post by GwarnGwarn »

Hi all,

Bought an FB that’s been sat near 10 years. Previous owner had it renovated and then parked it up to rust. I’ve owned an FC before and regretted selling it then. So bought this to save from the weeds. 94k on the clock but hasn’t run in 5 years. Not getting spark either.

Any tips, advice and where to get replacement parts is greatly appreciated as I learn while getting her back on the road.

Cheers,
Craig

At the moment, all I know I absolutely need are coils... I'm going to stick a multimeter on them tonight and confirm it, but I'm not getting any spark. I'm trying to wrap my head around DFIS, but the wasted spark gets my head muddled

Hopefully it shouldn't take too long either... Planning a wedding in 2021, so that's my deadline to get it tip-top. The FC lives in Italy now, I sold it to a friend who moved out there and it's changed hands 2 or 3 times now out there, still runs, but it had a piggyback ECU that I unplugged because the map was set up for 1600cc injectors (it was running standard) and from what I hear, they plugged it back in and it's off the road.

Thank you. I'm already on it reading up on everyone else's work. Feeding the ideas bank that the real bank can't afford...

Hi, Welcome to the Forum, I am over the border in Devon, probably your nearest neighbour.
I have a couple of used working S3 coils if needed?
