It was filmed on 18/08/2005 in Swindon. I can remember we were waiting about 1 and a half hours whilst they took the car out on the road to film the driving sequences. Normally they would have had a cameraman and a soundman in the car but decided there was not enough space to get a third person with equipment in the back. Before the days of GoPro cameras!

I did get the chance to review some of the script that Alex Riley used and was able to make a few corrections/additions!

Car finally taxed and now on the road. Short trip today. Need to investigate a slight stickiness in the throttle linkage when the secondaries start to open. Hopefully something straightforward as there is a slight resistance in the throttle travel which you have to apply more pressure to go through.

This is normal. It's not sticking, there is simply a little more resistance to overcome as it's a mechanical process.

I'm experiencing the opposite to you. I've changed to a twin carb setup and I'm having to adapt to having no primary to secondary step change which is rather novel after many decades.

Yes I came to that conclusion once I investigated to check the secondary shaft was not catching on anything. I had already had to modify the US spec throttle position switch linkage that is fitted instead of the normal UK spec idle switch mechanism at the front of primary shaft so it did not foul on the heat shield under the carb. I assume US spec cars have a different heat shield to provide more clearance at the front of the carb.

I have only done about a 100 miles so far so hopefully I will be fully used to it, including the fun of a steering box again, after the return trip to Gaydon tomorrow.
