Poly Bush tips

Post by A7RXY »

I've now got all my rear axle sway arms and Watts link rods ready to fit my poly bushes. Any tips on the best way to fit the new poly bushes would be appreciated.

get a load of cheap quick clamps as from memory when Jesse and I did his on his, they popped out of the arms after pushing them in, and it was a struggle to keep them in place whilst trying to fit them, I think a few clamps handy would've made it easier.

Thats the thing that was worrying me, because Energy Suspension say use it between poly bushes and any metal. Now I know to use plenty ....

Loads of lube and a vice. Little socket to push and a big socket at the back so it can push through when tightening...

Are the bushes for your upper / lower arms one or two piece? I used a set from Whiteline which were two piece so no need for a press.

Read the intructions carefully. There should be specifics on where and where not to apply the lube.

Dave they are actually 3 piece, I think the centre piece is made of a harder compound than the outers. They are only 2 piece for the Watts thou.

I suppose mine were technically three piece. Two piece bush and a metal crush tube.

I think we are playing top trumps here .... the bush is in 3 parts, a centre and two outers. If I could put photos up i would. 😄😄

I wouldn't dare play top trumps with you Dibs. I don't have surface prep or POR 15 in my deck mate. g-l
