New FB owner, but had a few rotaries before

Post by Chunkle »

Hey all.

My name is Rich, more commonly known as Chunk.

I’m from Sleaford area in Lincolnshire.

I’ve had a few FC’s and FD’s before but I’m a first time FB owner.

I’ve recently bought a 1981 FB from a salvage auction. It has a TWR kit on it and looks fairly complete. It’s had some restoration work done on it but I’ve not had a chance to investigate how well it’s been done.

It’s done 50k miles but not been on the road for 23 years.

I’m looking forward to building it back up over the next few weeks and see what needs doing.

I’ll start a build thread over the next few days

Cheers

Hey Chunk,

welcome to the forum h: We saw this car was up for auction, looks like you had a good buy at a decent price.
Interested to see how you get on with it. If you've owned FDs and FCs this will be a piece of cake. They are pretty simple cars and very reliable and durable when sorted (especially compared to a FD)
The guys on the forum have owned FBs for years and will have dealt with most of the issues you may come across and will be more than happy to share their knowledge.
