For Sale 1983 Mazda rx7fb Gen1 Series2 84,000 Miles

Post by 1of1 »

For Sale
My beautiful 1983 Mazda rx7fb Gen1 Series2 84,000 Miles, Named Dusty by Codge.
Owned for 30 years.
The first time I saw a Mazda Rx7 on the road I did not know what it was
so I chased this unknown car until I could see.
I thought to myself I want one of those and a few years later when I saw this car advertised
in 1991 just had to buy it, so HP agreement in place and this is where the Rx7 obsession started.
Since then I have also owned a 1993 Rx7FD which was sold in 2019.
Sadly now the time has come to let someone else enjoy this car, not an easy decision.
But due to other commitments it is not getting the attension or use as it should.
That said I am already thinking of an Rx8, just need a Rotary.

In my ownership the car has mainly been garaged apart from a few years where it sat on a gravel drive
and most of this time being in a tailored waterproof cover.
Car now fully recommissioned, lots of money spent.
MOT Valid until 06-07-2022.
Works to rear brakes - new seals and pistons to calipers.
New Idler pin bushes.
New Oil Cooler.
New Radiator.
New Electric Fan with thermostat.
New Clutch Slave Cylinder.
Newly repainted wheels and tyres.
Carbureter stripped cleaned and tuned.
Refurbed OMP.
Refurbed Starter motor.
Replacement clutch plate.
Original Oil Cooler - Radiator - Viscous Fan, to be included in sale.

The cars bodywork is good condition with only a couple of marks.
A couple of small rust bubbles are starting to form on sunroof
also a little rust starting to front end passenger side cill.
Small hole in rear wheel arch into cill, approx 6.5cm, plated by myself.

Please see all pictures.
I had some paintwork done in about 1997 - to rectify stone chips on bonnet.
The cars bodywork and paintwork is in very good condition.
Interior is in excellent condition.
Underneath car is solid with surface rust to suspension and steering components.
Car runs and drives good with no cold or hot starting issues.
Running on Mineral Oil.

Ideally in my opinion a few things that need to be done:
As already said bodywork and paintwork in very good condition, maybe old style paint
cleans and shines good, don't use wax or polish, just wash and buff with fibre cloth.
I know paint is different these days, not sure but I think maybe cellulose on car and no clearcoat lacquer.
A few very small rust bubbles starting to form on sunroof.
End of drivers side cill a little rust.
A few very small chips to bodywork
Hole mentioned earlier needs to be cleaned to metal and small plate welded.
Some suspension and steering joint bushes could do with replacing.
One rear brake mechanism is missing rubber cover.
Tailgate struts need re-gassing.

Car has been well cared for and lots of money recently spent.
I have been as honest as I can with assesment of car.
Any questions please feel free to ask.
Ater 30 years I am in no hurry to sell.
Viewing highly recommended, test drive by myself unless proof of insurance provided.
THE CAR WILL BE SOLD AS SEEN WITH NO WARRANTY OR REFUND.
Payment by Bank Transfer.
Price is £8,500.

Thanks for looking
Phil.
I have many more pictures if I can post.
