First rotary drive of 2024!

Post by Casey »

It was a sunny day here; cold, but the main roads were dry. My FB hasn't been out of the garage for over 6 weeks so thought it was time for a run out.

Checked fluid levels and tyres - all good. Fired up 2nd crank, which is normal when I've left her standing for over 10 days or so. Despite a few pumps of the accelerator and then full choke, it's always the same. She will always start straight away if used daily.

I did ~25 miles with a smile on my face. No issues, apart from low sun and a film on the outside of the windscreen reducing visibility a little - easily solved :D. I was in some traffic on a dual carriageway at one stage, in the overtaking lane behind another car and a van behind me, far too close to my bumper. The car in front pulled over, so I dropped a gear and floored the gas. I think the van was surprised as I left it in the distance

Have you driven your FB on the road yet in 2024?

Very nearly went for a drive today, managed to get the replacement brake master cylinder fitted this morning (supplied by gt James) but by the time I got a great pedal it was drizzling !!!
Have stuff to do at my daughters house tomorrow but weather looking dry on Thursday so fingers crossed.

Managed to get my diy chores finished early and the sun was shining, made a quick pass a few times round our estate (about 4miles) and absolutely no brake binding !!!

Today morning i got the german TÜV and emision test finished. I think it's nearly the same as you called mot in uk.
200km/h on the german highway and - 5°C at the way home was a little much risky.
😅🤣😂

Awesome that you guys are getting out at this time of year!

I actually managed to lay my eyes on my 7 a few nights ago. Shame it was because my mx5 tyre burst and I need the 7's tyres to swap on to it now! V(o
