Re: My first gen rx7 project
Bingo took photos of the photos on my phone. These photos were taken by the bloke I bought the car from who lived Glos way.He was keeping it at a garage yard at winterbourne near bristol. He told me he had owned it a few months.l think he got it from a guy in Plymouth called elford turboshaun who I think may have been a member of rx7fb.com who said he bought it from a lady. Called Yvette Banegas who took it with her when she moved to France It was in France for 27 years apparently Not sure but I think the guy from Plymouth repatriated it.Yvette was the lady code mentioned. Hopefully I can find out a bit more Logbook states it’s had 8 owners I know the guy I bought it from was one of them. Anyway mission accomplished lol.If anyone knows anything about the car or where Yvette is I would love to find out more about its history thanks Adrian

You will have to post your restored car in the elford gallery then.

Re: My first gen rx7 project
From what I've seen of your project so far, it also seems to be very good in detail. I don't like this masking and quick paint job as much as the complete disassembly. It just takes the project to a higher level. Building an Elford is very important internationally because of its rarity. I wish you every success and support here with the Elford professionals.

Re: My first gen rx7 project
That looks really nice aye. A new paintjob must be a lovely thing to have!
With a garage that size, I'm sure it'll be no problem to get everything sorted out aye

Hi Hobbawobba yes the paintwork does look nice im really pleased with it.Lucky 4 me Theo whose a member swapped me the elfordturbo bumper you see on this one for some panels for his rx7 The one on the original one on the car was really badly damaged .Ive still got it so i have been fortunate in that i had really good spare doors wings bonnet &sunroof i was able to use. Its really helped with the restoration.Hoping il be driving it by march next year.I much prefer the stardust blue compared to the misty blue as well which the car had been resprayed. Also found out the photos ive put on were taken by the the ownsr before the guy i bought the car off so im building up the history file on it quite nicely. This was by pure coincidence when i am.trying 2 find a elford tubo badge as ive only got one .Have a feeling thats going 2 be looking for a needle in a haystack. The car came up on another mazda fd forum...A guy from plymouth bought it off Yvette who moved to France and took it with her in 1993.He posted in march 2020 that he had just bought it.
