***JDM Combe: Sat 31 May 2025***

Post by Casey »

This event is a little earlier in the calendar than in recent years. The RX-8 OC will have a stand at this very popular show and have kindly invited other rotary car clubs to join them. Overall, we are hoping to get 50+ cars on the combined stand.

The show features gripping non-stop track action, awesome paddock displays, show & shine competitions, top 25 parade laps, thrilling drifting demos, public track time, and a bustling trade village.

The RX-8 OC plan to have a couple of gazebos on their stand and from around 7:30am they'll be providing bacon/sausage rolls plus, throughout the day: cakes, tea, coffee, cold drinks and snacks. Most cakes & scones are provided by fellow members. This is free to RX-8 OC members. Non-members are most welcome to avail themselves of the refreshments available, but will be asked for a donation of £5 to the RX-8 OC. I have the facility to take card paymnents, so no cash needed!

This circuit is independently run, has been very good to car clubs for many years and deserves our support to keep running. If you have not been to this event before, then you are missing out on a great show. This short official video from the 2022 event gives you some idea of what to expect,

BENEFITS OF BEING PART OF A CLUB STAND:
  • Show off your car inside the circuit’s grounds and be a part of the show!
  • Entitlement to take your car out on track in any of the 15 minute public track sessions (at extra cost).

CLUB STAND TICKETS

YOU WIILL NEED THE CLUB BOOKING CODE. This will be PM'd out to those on the list.

Tickets can be purchased here: https://castlecombecircuit.co.uk/shop/j ... ay-passes/

Tickets cost £25 and permit one car, driver and up to three adults in the car. Those under 16 are admitted free with an accompanying adult.

NOTE: the "Early Bird Club Pass" at £20 are now SOLD OUT. However, a discount of £5 is stil available by using the code JDMC24 at the checkout, bringing the entry price for car, driver and up to 3 passengers to just £20.

Ensure you select "RX-8 Owners Club" from the pull-down "CLUB DETAILS" list and enter the club cod, which will be PM'd to you.

Once you complete the online booking form, go to the basket to pay. (There is NO EXTRA BOOKING FEE, unlike in previous years).

Once paid you will receive 2 emails. The first will be your order receipt, the 2nd will have an attachment - this your ADMISSION E-TICKET for the event for you to print out and take with you.

The E-TICKET will also state:

"Closer to the event, you will receive your club display pass as an E-HANGER for you to PRINT OFF and DISPLAY before attending the circuit.

Without the e-hanger, you will not be admitted to the display area (this e-ticket is insufficient). If you don’t bring the hanger, you must park in the public car parking.

You will be emailed the e-hanger after we close sales and allocate the display stand site numbers. This means you will receive the pass before the event. The e-hanger include your display stands’ site number, the colour of your entry gate and directions to said gate."

EXCLUSIVE TRACK SESSION
At 10.45am, there will be a RX-8 OC exclusive, 15minute track session available (price TBD, but around £30). RX-8 OC members will get first shout on the limited (~20) places, but if an RX7fb.com member is wanting to go out on track, then post up in here and, if spaces are available, there won't be a problem in joining the session. If you have not driven a session at JDM Combe before, this "driver's view" video below will give you some idea of what it is like. Click on the "gearwheel", bottom right of video, and select "Quality - HD" for the best view.

It's great fun, and I would recommend anyone who has not driven on track before to request a "club exclusive" session just for the experience. A full briefing on how to drive on track will be given to all participants on the day (nothing complicated!). It may be possible to arrange for an experienced track driver to sit in as a passenger, if requested. A helmet is required, but these can be hired on the day for a nominal fee - sometimes members also have spare helmets they can loan FOC.

CLUB TICKETS: DO NOT BOOK UNTIL YOU HAVE THE CLUB CODE

The RX-8 OC have already registered for a stand and have a booking code. They are currently awaiting clarification of the Club Ticket pricing and booking procedure. The price is £25 per car (plus booking fee), including driver and (we think) at least one other passenger. I will publish booking details as soon as they become available.

All club pass orders will be sent out roughly 3 weeks before the event.

Update. JDM Combe have just reduced the the price of entry to just £15 (for car, driver and up to 3 passengers)!

This price can be obtained by booking an "Early Bird" ticket** (£20), and then using the £5 discount code - JDMC24 - at the checkout.

This is an amazing show, at a great location, and now at an incredible price. Get your tickets now, while they are still available.

**Either PM me, or post up in here to request the Club Stand booking code.

I realised a day or two ago I have a bloody MX5 to keep me busy whilst the 7 is off the road

Would one of those be allowed to join you guys? It's a 1990 import on coilovers and knockoff wheels. Nothing too special hahaha

Heads up, last chance to bag a ticket, admitting car and up to 4 adults in the car, for just £20

Price will be going up to £25 shortly.

It's going to be another great rotary stand, with 36 cars already signed up and still 4 months to go.

Exclusive track session has 19 cars signed up, still a few places left.
