***Rotary Day at Bicester Heritage Hangar (Oxford); Saturday, 12 July***

Post by Casey »

I have been in contact with Charlie Walford who, for several years, has arranged a 7's day at various places, as near to 7 July as possible. The events to date have been by invitation only.

Last year, the event was held at Bicester Heritage Hangar 113: https://api.bicesterheritage.co.uk/medi ... 447053.pdf

A video of 2022's event at this venue:

This year, Charlie has said,
......keen to have another go this year it seemed sensible to open it up to all dorito lovers. Rotary swaps, cosmos, 7s and 8s. This will be an event PURELY for owners. NOT for the general public.
Hangar 113 is a unique location and increasingly known as an iconic events and filming space – used by Aston Martin, BMW & McLaren, every major automotive magazine and on occasion feature films – ‘Darkest Hour’ and most recently Batman’s prequel ‘Pennyworth’.

• Impressive location, a 1936 Grade II listed WW2 Hangar.
• Providing 45,000 sq.ft. of flexible events/filming space.
• 30 ft. (11m) height from floor to ceiling.
• Excellent access via two roller shutter doors to the north and 4 hangar doors to the south – located close to the South Gate entrance.
• Three toilets and access to a kitchen

There is a lot to see at this site too, this map will give you some idea:

Payment Details
Charlie Walford has posted this on FDOC:
Tickets are £40/car, yes passengers are welcome. Tickets can only be bought in advance, purely for owners, if you chip up on the day in a random car expecting to get in - find another route paperboy.

Regrettably this isn't a money making scheme, so naturally I don't want to be out of pocket. If granny dies, you've decided to identify as a Prious, flat tyres whatever it is, they'll be no refunds. That said, if bicester cancel, of course I'll refund everyone.

Once we've got 50 cars paid up I'll fire the deposit it bicester and we are cooking on gas.
I've got some cheeky ideas for photo ops, drones are welcome but will need to sign a waiver.

These have been really good days out aye. I've been going to them for a few years now with GT_James. Although I've been tagging along with him more than driving my own car recently  :(

Wow, there are now 109 rotaries paid up for this event. Absolutely amazing!

The limit is 120, so if you were thinking of going, not much time left before it sells out!

How many FB's and Elford FB's going Casey? Call me a purist if you like but I'm interested if enough FB's will be there, but not really bothered about all these tricked out FD's etc. Its a bit of a drive from North Yorkshire, but doable, so who knows.
