Don't take the bump stops out!

Cut them down if you must, but they are there to stop you bottoming out the shock hard enough to damage it. It would suck to hit a large pot hole and blow a damper.

Plans for a turbo sound good. 12a parts are getting rare now, so most people will recommend going 13bt Lots of rusty FC turbos out there which make good donors.

Got a 13b ready to go just needs a rebuild, iv just remembered i bought a load of spares about the same time i picked up my ecu and charge cooler. I got east coast unbreakable side seals, hardened rx8 stationary gears, 3 window comp stationary gear bearings, set of comp corner seals, comp oil relief valve, bigger oil jets for e-shaft, comp side seal springs, comp oil seal springs and a thermal heat pellet. Its amazing what you find hidden away in your garage, forgot id even bought them.

You've got bump stops attached to the body too,no? If the springs are hard enough, you won't bottom out.

Just watch those stat gears though. FD can be swapped but RX8 has thicker front and rear cast irons so the is longer journal to journal and presumably the stat gears have to be thicker.

What 13B is it. FC?

Im gona use a fc 13b.

Had a look on mazdatrix where i got the stationary gears and they say they will fit but need bearing clearence checking with a 13b shaft and possible modifying.

What's the plan - on carbs or EGi on the ECU you've got?

Probably going to run injection. Either use the peter farrell iv got or buy a microtech or haltec.

And the RX8 eshaft is tapered on the back half of the rear stat gear journal.

Those RX8 stat gear bearings are getting torn up pretty bad in the 8s. I'm not touching them.

Aquired another handy gadget for the car, a mazda bag to hold my pre-mix bottle in, no more spillages in unwanted places.

there's a cool black with blue mazda logo clear plastic front bag for a one litre oil bottle i have with my rx8.
i keep it in the boot as it has some velcro to keep it attached to the carpet in the boot.

it'd be handy for any litre oil bottles with premix in them, as it would last you a good while.

i have been using the castrol 2T premix and i think its made a massive difference to my rx8.
better economy, better acceleration smoother etc. it feels so good to drive now, i'd love to drive it everyday
if only the petrol wasn't so expensive.

still i got 27.2mpg on a 30 mile, motorway/city drive home and i was not babying it either, a few red lines etc
