Koni inserts and gland nuts.

Post by KiwiDave »

My man Andy at AMT has called me to say that my nice red koni inserts are now on the car. Unfortunately, it seems that the factory gland nut (the one that screws to the strut) will not clear the insert body and needs to be thinner. They are the proper parts ie Koni Special 86-2345.

Has anyone had a similar issue with Koni's? Can I get the right gland nuts from Koni or anywhere else. :?:

Suggestions much appreciated. :D

After a fair bit of research, it seems I'm not the only person looking for spare gland nuts, top nuts or whatever else you call them, from Koni. And no one else seems to have much luck either by the sounds of things.

This is the nut from the old strut. It's too small to fit over the koni insert. Does anyone have an up to date contact for Koni? I have tried their website, my emails come back undeliverable.

Have sourced a couple from KYB so If they don't work with the Koni's, at least I can throw a set of KYB's at it for the meantime.

(and this is NOT my entry for the Best Workshop Gloves competition as these pics were from Andy at AMT). So TOOL is still the main contender I thinks :?:

I've got some but they're part of a rebuild kit for RX2 so not parting with them.

PS I wish I had a lathe but a mig is first on the Christmas list.
