1st tank was a disaster haha
This one worked out and it sucks the tank bone dry.. so dry if I wanted I cant even fill a paint can lid with whats left.. so success.. itll never be driven that empty and will never starve for fuel.. i hope haha

^ This +1 haha.
Keen to see those drop tank pics!
I managed to get my front struts off the car in preparation for coilovers! Those 2 bolts from the control arm into the strut are a struggle

haha

Front arches & part of the front structure epoxied.
The plan was just the wings however rust was bad enough on the rails that I decided to deal with it now rather than later.
Long term the inner wings and front end section will get epoxy primer & then painted.

Painted my wings:
First time ever using a proper spray gun, its one stage 2K paint. I wanted to avoid 2K due to the health issues, but due to how old the car is they literally only do the paint in this 2k 1 stage. (No clear coat) I used a proper vapour mask and was outside so should be OK.
Sadly on closer inspection:
Tried to put too much paint on for the first coat, didn't have the gun setup very well plus well it was my first ever try.
The left hand side went much better:
Still a couple of runs and it needs a flat back & polish, but went way better.
The other side I'll respray tomorrow. Weather depending.

good thing is you can wet sand that down and lay over another light coat...
usually you try not to sand the paint bu cut the clear...
Looks clean though other than that... I love it when guys just send it themselves/with mates... anybody can pay big money for professional stuff (if they have the dough - aka most PAC cars - though amazing still not built by the owner)
my buddy painted mine with me in my garage.. I did bodywork (average haha) and helped paint etc... $600 it cost me
the difference was the clear and the buffing after.... put double what you thought on the clear.. youll thank me later haha

Cheers DWNUNDR, normally the price I pay for panels sprayed is less than the cost of materials. (Friend of my Dads)
But he was too busy to do it in any reasonable time frame so I decided to have a bash, the first one the gun was setup badly and my technique was wrong.
I'm not clearing it as its a single stage paint, so the paint itself is 2 component, 2 parts paint 1 part activator which I then thinned 10%.
In hindsight I should have painted it horizontal, less chance of a run that way, I'll try that next time. Its raining cats and dogs today so I've not touched it.

I believe they pretty much outlawed single stage here.. hahah back in Australia we painted a few cars with a fence sprayer.. turned out great haha
