dunno if this helps? it's a sketch I did of the plug to the engine loom when I stripped all the emission crap from my loom on my black Elford.... did the same on my current car.....

you can also lose water temp 2 as that just controls the choke which you've done away with and one of the alternator wires... I just left that in there to use for my ignition retard circuit which again, you don't need. From memory, I think you only need 1,2,3,7&8.
