Those wheels are 4x100 which is a bit of a bummer.

Well, Dusty has been for its MOT retest today and passed with no problems. I would have liked to mod the foglight so its in the light cluster but I had already ordered an under bumper one.


So the question is, What do you all think the car is worth now it has a ticket on it?

Should I keep the car and drive it as is? or restore it to it former glory?

Basically in terms of value is it worth spending money on the car or selling it as a completely original low mileage rolling project?

Im not necessarily planning on selling it, but at the same time, Im not sure I can justify having four cars.

If 40,000 is genuine, which it seems to be, £1600 to £2000. It might be more except I'm allowing for all those years without any attention. (That might mean all sorts of catchup bills).
I stress it's just my personal view. I'm always alert to mileage considerations. Others don't set such store by it.

Keep it, restore to beautiful condition and at the same time use it.

The fact it has sat for so long will mean there will be a reasonable amount of mechanical work required to make it reliable.

is mileage not as relevant on a car standing about for so long though, especially with a rotary engine?
if the engine starts and runs ok then no problems, i have always been told its the rust, rust, rust issues.

a good rust free car would be worth a few grand and that alone should help decide your price range.

I'd much rather buy a rust free 1st gen with 100,000 on it than one with only 50,000 that has spent it's life at the seaside in the salt air and is riddled with rust.
Obviously it's nice to have everything, mint car, perfect history, low miles etc but cars like that are very few and far between and given how many 1st gens are for sale at any one time, we have to take what we can get...... massive selection to choose from there ain't.
