Been amusing myself this week, needed to replace my alternator bearings, so thought it would be nice to spend a few hours polishing it.
I bought two sets of bearings and did both, so I have a spare one if anyone wants a shiny one :)
I thought it would be nice to have it in “air cleaner “ blue.

That's the old style alternator!
Iam surprised to see it mounted on the last 12 A rotary engine with the watercooled oilcooler.
Perhaps the matter is the car produktion in 1983 when mazda changed some things.

sya

Drove the car last Friday, got really annoyed by the blow from the turbo manifold and slightly noisy clutch release bearing, so second picture is where it is at today lol.

Ha! Whenever I do that, the project "creeps" significantly and I start cleaning up, touching up or replacing items (eg rusty for stainless bolts) whilst I have access

-haha-
Looks like you are right Malcolm, seems to have turned into a full engine bay in primer lol.

P.S. thanks to Dibs for digging through his garage, and finding me a replacement clutch master and slave cylinder.
As I happened to notice a bit of weeping when stripping the firewall.
