I see lots of cars in NZ with no wing mirrors. Anyone know if this is legal in the uk?

Re: Wind mirror removal
no, you need 2 rear view mirrors and the offside door mirror must be one of them

Re: Wind mirror removal
Correct.
You could remove the passenger mirror, but not sure what you would want to - S2 looks a bit loop sided with just the one

Re: Wind mirror removal
just replace the uk spec cricket bat mirrors with the uber sexy and sleek US and Aussie style aero mirrors..... door mounted works of art.

Re: Wind mirror removal
I know japanese cars have wing mirror. Only door mirror driverside in germany is ok if you can have a look back the inside mirror.kenwhiteside wrote:I see lots of cars in NZ with no wing mirrors. Anyone know if this is legal in the uk?

Re: Wind mirror removal
Lol, think you just had your English corrected by a German
The last car I had with proper wing mirrors (lol) was a Morris Marina, and they were utterly useless for seeing behind you. The aero Mazda mirrors Ian mentioned and Thomas posted in his second pic are the ones you want. Just be aware that although they're not as useless as wing mirrors (lol) they're still much more useless than the ugly cricket bats. Juts make sure to source the NZ or Aussie ones; although eBay has loads more American ones for sale, they don't work on right-hand-drive cars as the field of view is wrong

Re: Wind mirror removal
Ahh yes how embarrassing I was referring to the door mirrors. Such a shame that you have to keep them on as it looks very good without them.
