Clutch identification in rotaries

Post by TOOL »

This has been coming up a fair bit lately, so I've taken some snaps of my clutches for comparison.

Found this and didn't realise I had it. 200mm clutch cover. Presumed to be R100.

215mm clutch cover. Fits all RX2, RX3, RX4, RX7 S1 and S2 RX7:

225mm clutch. Fits RX7 S3 and S4 NA (S5 NA too but we don't have these in UK)

240mm clutch (235mm as well). S4 and S5 RX7 turbo clutch.

Exedy part but still Daikin OEM

You can see that they are all visually quite distinct and readily identified by sight.

Clutch plates.

Solid 215mm clutch. Possibly MFR.

Stock 215mm clutch plate.

Hope it might help someone.
