G'day from Dan downunder...

Post by rotababy »

Hi everyone.. thought I would join up :) im a definite fan of the early rx7. . Have had a few now.. last one was my daily driver.. 1982 rx7 with a 13bt. .I have recently pulled out the 13bt to be refreshed and put into my other project (rx4 coupe ) in the meantime I had to find an engine to put in the rx7. . So ended up with an rx8 engine. . Am about 80% thru the conversion.. and am back in love with the 7.. :) anyways thanks for having me! I thought I should share.. will be happy to throw up pics and links or help with any questions.. also looking forward to seeing all the sweet sevens about the globe.. cheers! Dan.. :)

Mine's that silver street rider in the top banner.....the one with the beooootiful red stripe. The stripe increases my maximum speed from 29mph to at least 32mph with no effort on my part........ :P

Nowadays codge by name and codge by driving.
It wasn't always so.....I once did 46 mph on a clear road back in the 60's.

Hi, Dan, welcome along. Your build is excellent, top skills on show there. Pic of the ECU wiring has given me the heebie jeebies though  I love the "OMP delete", you ought to be selling those

Haha im hearing u..I live in a tiny country town..have the only rotor for hundreds of kilometres..its always been that way. .so when I get a bit throttle happy theres no mistaking who it is haha.. so im used to just cruising about now..after a few fines :p red stripe is different on your 7. Adds HP.. I have heard this theory.. maybe thats my problem..my whole car is red.. :p

Thanks heaps! Its great to get good feedback.. it hasnt been all that difficult really so far. .wiring shouldnt be a drama..only use about half the loom as its just the basic engine im running no extras.. diagram is straight forward and the Adaptronic guys were incredibly helpful.. fingers crossed for start ups tho :) dont trust OMP's ..never have never will ;)
