Hi All,
My name is Andy, I am Australian, currently living in Singapore. I have a 1979 Series 1 Rx7 in storage in Aus.
I have had the car for a few years now, it currently has a Microtech injected 13B turbo with a TO4 and it is in really nice condition, so worth keeping!
Enjoying seeing all the other first gen's on here.
Cheers
Andy

Re: New member Andy
Hi Guys,
I will rustle up some pics of the Series 1 for you soon.
As for Singapore, I have been here a year now and I have not seen one single first gen yet.
That is a lot due to the Singapore system for quotas on car numbers. Once a car reaches 10 years since its first registration you have to scrap it or pay an exorbitant re registration fee (like equivalent of US$70,000 atm) to give you the right to re register it for another 10 years (yep, the 70K does not include the actual rego). If you don't pay the car can not stay on the island, you can't even keep it unregistered.
So as far as I can tell there seems no other way to keep an old school car and as a result only older cars that are really loved are kept here. I hope I do see a first gen as it will likely be a really awesome one.
There are some really nice old school cars here (there are plenty of rich car hoons here!) I take my lightly modified Subaru Legacy GT estate to this really cool high rise car park that is completely full of car repair and modification shops, there are a few of these on the island, like floors and floors of awesome car porn. Here are a few pics (sorry mostly non Mazda) I took from the last time I went up there to sort out a boost issue for the Subaru.
Old school Mini!

Matt Black Evo X, I thought that looked tough as;

An awesome old school Ferrari _ I even heard this one start up, so cool;

How fat are these rear boots!

Something cool in the works;

A couple of tough looking FD RX-7's in the works;

Will get some of my Series 1 soon.
Hope you enjoyed the pics from Singapore.

Re: New member Andy
Hi and welcome along, Andy. How stern is that, not even letting someone keep a car on the island once it's out of registration!?
Is space really at that much of a premium?
Look forward to pics of your own car, and thanks for those above. In the interests of keeping my OCD quiet and in a spasm of pedanticness, that's technically a Dino, not a Ferrari. Designed as a side-project by Enzo Ferrari's son (Alfredino), it was the chosen car to use Dino's new V6 engine aimed at competition in Formula 2. Which never happened. Despite that Ferrari was then technically a subsidiary of Fiat, ol' Enzo had so much clout that he forced Fiat to build two variants of the Fiat Dino (coupe and cabriolet) alongside his own "Ferrari" Dino simply to guarantee enough cars were made to homologate the engine for racing. They were never badged as Ferraris but left as Dinos as a tribute to Alfredino after his death at a young age, although many owners added their own Ferrari logos and lettering. Not necessarily funny but it's true. Despite not actually being a Ferrari exactly, it's about my second favourite Ferrari... if that makes sense... so thanks for the pics!

Re: New member Andy
p.s. "Ferrari" is the Italian equivalent of the surname "Smith". Don't sound so exotic now, do they, lol
Re: New member Andy
OK, cool, thanks for all the info on the Dino, I was wondering what model it was. Interestingly it did have Ferrari badges on it so as you say they must have been added by the owner. This place is littered with late model Ferrari's Lambo's, Audi R8's, Porsche's you name it, but this still stands out as one of the hottest cars I have seen in the flesh, just awesome.
OK, here are some pics of my Series 1 for you guys;

No, that's more lime green. I like lime green on oldschool cars.
