Post by DKWW2000 »

It managed to escape from a Dark Hangar in Deepest Dorset but now roams S Devon & is believed to be the only 1 OTR in the Devon & Cornwall peninsula, mostly Stock & will keep it that way!

Have finished the first major cleaning session & Service of the Engine Bay whilst trying to keep original yet practical & in keeping with the car (apart from new red vacumn hoses).

Hope to replace Clutch Friction/Pressure Plate & Release Bearing over Xmas as slipping under load in 4/5 th gear, I guess after 30 years of use you cant complain.

Any unusual things to note when replacing clutch?

Pete

A long time since I did one Pete but really completely straightforward. As I recall the starter bolts are part of the bell housing fix, also maybe a hidden bolt or dowel, I can't fully recall.

You just need a centring tool. As posted before I use a piece of sweeping brush handle whittled down at the front and hammered into the old plate splines to shape it further back.

As Dave says there is a hidden bolt behind the starter motor other than that pretty straight forward.
I have got a sawn off g/box input shaft if you want to borrow it to centralise the friction plate.
Engine bay is looking great in those pics s(c)
