I'm about 30 miles south of Tucson Arizona. I joined a while back but haven't been on here for a long time so figured I'll check in again. I've had a red with grey cloth interior 85 GSL-SE for about two years now. Very little worked right on it when I got it but the drive line, including the engine, has turned out to be in very good shape. I've since got the AC working well (cold even at 100+ degree weather), the engine running smoothly (it stars instantly and does not smoke), and I've got all the gadgets (cruise control, power windows, interior lighting, etc.) working as the factory intended. So now I'm looking for more horsepower. My last car was a Sunbeam Tiger with 300 HP+ at the rear wheels on the dyno, and with a weight (2500 lns.) almost exactly the same as the RX7. Long story why I sold the Tiger (mainly a good amount of money thrown at me), but I miss some of that horsepower. Short of taking the engine apart and having it ported (beyond my mechanical ability), are there any fairly cost effective ways to get noticeably more power out of my engine without breaking the budget? I know a lot of folks have gone with a turbo but that seems like a whole lot of money. Has anyone gone with a supercharger? That seems like it would be a lot easier to do (pretty much a bolt on?) and maybe less expensive. I'm figuring since I've got a"mighty" stock 135 HP now, if I can get it closer to 200 HP I should be pretty happy with it. I'm tired of getting blown away by Toyota sedans when they don't even know I'm racing them! I'm not in a smog controlled area now but may be moving to an area that is, so I'll probably have to take that into consideration in what I do. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated,
