Which coolant should be used in these engines
has time stood still or should we use the latest spec coolant.

Time has stood still:
Bluecol original blue is the only stuff I'd put in mine.
Mix @ 40%, change every 2 to 3 years........Rad had to be re-cored millions of years back yes, but that was external rot-out of the fins, not internal corrosion.......all the rest of my system is undisturbed and perfect.
