just checked the end play on the shaft, but only 0.02 [ should be 0.04 0.07 ]the only things changed to effect this are the torington bearings. could it be them.the shaft has a y sleave fitted. so i think i might need a x spacer. or refit the original torington bearings.[ they were like new] any one got a x spacer.

i dont think it pinched. i will check all again monday. too cold in the workshop the vasalean has gone solid

Easily done.

Changing the torrington's shouldn't affect your end play. If you had more play I would say don't worry about it.
Back in the UK for the summer, maybe longer......

checked yesterday, not pinched, i did put 2 replacement housings on this rebuild so must be them. so i think a k or x spacer is needed any body got one, cheers all

What kind of housing. iron or rotor housing. if you don't changed the iron and the end play will be fine.
If not, you got another iron plate and it will a@@@ (spelling) the end play.

no just changed the rotor housings, .can the new torrington bearings be thicker, will check again

I can see what I have lying around next week. Just as easy to go to Mazda. They're not expensive.

Ah! rotor housing always stay the same unless remove mat'l for some reason.

tryed mazda for spacers, now all discontinued, so will have to get one spun up on a lathe, cheers all
