Retrorides Events

Post by ian65 »

Thank you for Retro Rides Gathering 2017
Well it has been a little over a month since the event and we're still on a high from it, probably our favourite one yet. The weather was kind, the turn out was huge, the hill was packed and the show field was abuzz with cars and people. We even managed to work with Shelsley's exciting new fence!

Events for 2018
With this show season drawing to a close it is time to start thinking about next year. We naturally have a few suggestions for you.

Retro Rides Weekender at Goodwood
Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th May
Goodwood Circuit, Chichester
A full two day event, with on track sprint action on the Saturday and club displays utilising the track on the Sunday. Alongside curated displays in the paddock, special guests, trade stands and workshop displays. This will have a much bigger campsite than RR Gathering for you to enjoy the full two days.
Camping tickets go on sale in November, club space will also open up around this time, we will send an email with full details when they are available.

Retro Rides Gathering 2018

Sunday 19th August (provisional)
Shelsley Walsh
Same bat time, same bat channel, we'll be back at Shelsley Walsh with our usual array of club stands, hill climb, guest cars and all the things you've come to know from Retro Rides Gathering. We have improvements to make to the layout and flow of the event for 2018 and hope this makes the whole thing more enjoyable.

Thank you again and see you next year!
Thank you again for coming along and making Retro Rides Gathering such a success. We are a small team that put on the sort of show we'd like to attend. Each year we try and improve where we can and have plans for 2018 already. Please help us spread the word where you can.

Thank you,
Retro Rides Gathering Team

Two days at Goodwood. I like the sound of it, but surely the cost will reflect the location and duration. Have they released prices?

I saw the Goodwood event info a few weeks back aye. Thought it sounded awesome. As long as it isn't silly pricing. I'm keen for RRG as always

I have the same concerns about cost. I love Goodwood events but they are never cheap (apart from Breakfast Club which is free admission). And I'd need to apply for days off as I'm rostered to work that weekend.

About time there was something cool near me  I get fed up with an hours' drive just to reach the M25 before I can start getting anywhere. I'm &$@~ing smashing that Goodwood thing  Errrrmmmm... so long as I can get time off, lol

We have a (really tiny) spare bedroom if anyone wants to make both days but doesn't want to fork out for B&B or hotel or whatever... though I think RR were trying to organise camping weren't they? Anyway, we're 20 miles (half an hour) from Goodwood if anyone needs a bed for the night

I can fit into spaces categorised as Limited Clearance and have just been granted that weekend off

PS Can bring overalls if you need a hand in the garage and stuff

I'm interested in the Goodwood weekend too, subject to not being a silly cost!
