Mazda UK 7/7 Rotary Day - **REGISTRATION CLOSING 12 JUNE**

Post by Casey »

Mazda UK have kindly agreed to host a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the launch of the RX-7 at their HQ in Dartford on Saturday, 7th July th:

Image

The event will run from 10am to 3pm and all are welcome. If you are able, bring along your Mazda rotary to celebrate the day with other rotary enthusiasts. Even better if you can roll up in an increasingly rare (in the UK at least) RX-7 FB.

Full details of the schedule are yet to be finalised, but expect a fun day out, with a few special cars to drool over in the Mazda Heritage Collection. They’ll be food and drink available onsite, a few deckchairs and probably some music and games/quizzes too.

The “Mazda Fans” weekend last year was well attended and much enjoyed, so expect a similar experience and vibe for this year.

The team at Mazda Rotary Club are liaising with Mazda UK to finalise details, but attendance is free and open to all Mazda rotary enthusiasts, regardless of car ownership or club membership. All that we ask is that you register your interest in attending asap by providing your full name and email address to team@mazdarotaryclub.com , along with the names of any passengers you intend to bring along. These details will be passed to Mazda to send out further information of the event in due course. The details you provide will be used for the sole purpose of communicating with you about this event.

There is limited capacity at the Mazda HQ site, so don’t delay in registering or you might miss out :D

Thanks for the support so far guys 0-0

(D)
Unashamed weekend bump for a major event in the history of our fantastic cars.

This Anniversary event was finally confirmed only after I took a recent trip down to Mazda UK (along with Clive Haynsford) to meet up with Lewis Beale (Brand Manager, Mazda UK) and Grant Richards (Brand Analyst).

Not sure how many FB's will be left in the UK for the 50th Anniversary, so let's try and get a good turnout for the 40th :D

Only 5 FB's on the list so far (plus lots of other rotaries).
KIMI 1 : 1st Gen, "hybrid" 1983 silver S2 running gear in a 1985 S3 shell, SORN'd, long term resto project
KIMI 2 : 1st Gen, 1983 silver S2 - now sold to Ian Mothersole on here.
KIMI 3 : 1st Gen, 1983 red S3
Plus a 2004 Full Bridgeported RX-8

James x 2, you are on both the list :)

There is still time to register, but don't wait to long if you are thinking about it, as we may be approaching Mazda's limit on their insurance for events. If there is a cut-off, it will be strictly by "first come, first served".

Just to let people know we now have nearly 60 rotaries registered for this event, including at least 12 FB's - including one stunning Elford that Mark Pratley brought to JDM Day at Castle Combe yesterday. It was selected during the day out of 1000's of cars at the event to join a small group to make 2 parade laps h:
