Aluminium fuel tank

Hello, I have a series 2 fb 1983, and have found a hole in the top part of the fuel tank. Has anyone changed/made their fuel tank to a aluminium one? I could repair the old one, but I do like the idea of having a new tank. I am not so keen on the fuel wheel cell idea. Thanks Dave
