Go Japan: Brands Hatch, Sunday 25 September

Post by Casey »

Based on the successful joint rotary stands at JDM Combe, the RX-8 OC would like to invite any interested rx7fb.com members to come along to the above show. More details here: https://www.gojapan.co.uk/ - although the information there is a bit sparse at the moment! It's run by Motor Sport Vision (MSV), Jonathan Palmer's company, who own and operate many race venues in the UK, including this venue, Brands Hatch in Kent. This is the blurb from MSV:
This is the third year at Brands Hatch will play host to an all-Japan event which will be a major car show date of the year - Go Japan!

Go Japan! is a huge scale event to welcome cars, bikes and everything else made in Japan to the beautiful Kent venue for a one-day annual celebration.

The event will feature a stage, live music, interviews and and discussions with celebrity car figures from Japan and the UK, Comicon, Japanese food, interactive competitions and much more.

On track there will be a huge line-up of legendary cars and bikes, from racing, tuning and show vehicles, welcoming the Time Attack Championship, a major drifting car feature and a special race featuring Japanese cars. Japanese Performance magazine are collaborating with us to line up some of the most amazing Japanese cars you'll find anywhere. Japanese cars as well as tuning and racing celebrities will be flown from Japan for this exclusive event, some for the first time ever.

The show will host the UK's best Japanese car clubs in marque specific zones, will feature a huge trade village where you can expect the finest names to be on hand as well as manufacturer presence, test drives, rally drive experiences and many other things for you, your friends and family to enjoy.
The RX-8 OC have applied for a stand and the plan is for anyone in other rotary clubs who are interested to book using the same stand code. On the day, as at JDM Combe, we'll divide up the stand area, so each club can have their own distinct area, but put on a great, combined, rotary display to the visiting crowds.

This will not be on the same scale as what the RX-8 OC did for Combe, but a much lower key event. If you love Japanese cars and culture, this is a great show.

Prices
Adult - £19
Child - £11 (Ages 13 - 15)
Child - £0 (Age under 13)

If you are interested, no commitment at this stage, just post up below and I'll provide more info as it becomes available.

Tickets can be purchased here: https://brandshatch.msv.com/BH-22-JAPAN

Once booked, PM me and I'll send you a code and link to register your car on the RX-8 OC stand area

sya
Ok so I went to Go Japan at Brands hatch today,
thousands of cars, two fc’s, several fd’s but not a sniff of an fb to be had, such a shame that the best model wasn’t even represented. 🙈
Need to make sure that I get mine ready for next time !!

Hi Steve, you should have come over to join us on the RX-8 OC stand, which also hosted a stunning yellow Bathurst R FD - maybe you saw it? Plenty of bacon rolls and drinks to spare under our gazebo. I was looking out for you.

I had to take my RX-8 in the end as I haven't finished work on my FB brakes - on hold whilst I welcome our first grandchild into the world last week :)

Shame, as it looks as though I would have had the only FB at the show! No-one else spotted one either, but we did se the red FC and other FD's.

We'll have to make sure we make it a pair there next year
