Recommend Me A Rust Converter

Post by Antnicuk »

I will be getting to grips with the rust on the FB in the coming weeks/months and wondered if anyone can recommend a rust converter they had used?
Also, any tips on dealing with the dreaded tin worm would be much appreciated too.

thanks
Tony

I agree with Rotaryguru, the Kurust stuff is great. I used it on the subframe of my Jetta and other metal parts. I first had the subframe media blasted clean of 20yrs of crud, paint and rust, then rust treated it with kurust.

which turned the surface black and blue

then cleaned it off and etch primed and zinc primed it

then final paint.

I did the same for my radiator cowl and other metal sections that are visible so I rubbed those down first then treated then flatted before priming and painting. Came up ok. Its been a year and no signs of rust coming back g-l

Hope this helps
