that back box is actually a genuine factory backbox.... and the best looking backbox for a 1st gen IMO...... the only downsides are that, being mild steel, they rust and weigh about the same as a pack of bricks... the difference in weight between a stainless aftermarket backbox and one of these genuine factory boxes has to be experienced to be believed

Ah Ah, deffo my car's brother. Our fuel gauge don't work either!.
I run 150 miles at a time then top back up to a full tank.It takes 25/30 litres to do that.

The tail pipes look like stock Nik. Twin chrome stub pipes attached over the mild steel standard outlet pipes. As Ian very nice looking but hell, the box does rust out easily on the forward facing front plate.

Don't be too jelous there's lots of work to do.

I do like the look of the rear exhaust. It's not blowing at the moment but if I hit a bump it might....

Luckily my dad builds stainless exhaust systems for a living so he might have to build a replica.

Have a look at his site. http://www.paulgooderham.co.uk

that's really useful to know Gaz, your dads work looks the business.... I'm sure a few of us would think about having stainless headers made or a turbo manifold for a 1st gen

I would think if your dad could stick together some RHD-friendly stainless headers he'd probably flog a few on here ;) Looks like he does good stuff. The link to your own website doesn't seem to work though, Gaz?

EDIT: I'm not copying Ian's post above, I just didn't read it before I posted
