Re: 1986 Series 3 Elford Turbo
A lot of good work going on there Ian, it must be satisfying when you overcome these hurdles through your own initiatives & engineering

thanks, to be fair I'm following Bumpstarts instructions on flipping the manifold..... it all looks a bit tight though so I might just end up buying another manifold.

Re: 1986 Series 3 Elford Turbo
Took the car out for a spin today in the sunshine but it's running like a dog. It fires up on one rotor, occasionally the 2nd rotor will kick in and it struggles to pull away.... chugs along the road then every now and again it picks up and drives great, mainly when the revs are up but when I slow down and the revs drop, it seems to go back onto 1 rotor again.
When it's up on the rev and the turbo kicks in it flies so it isn't mechanical/compression or else it would be chugging all the time. The induction system fuels both rotors simultaneously so it can't be a fuelling issue as the rear rotor is running fine.
I pulled the plugs and cleaned them up... all were ok ish but the plugs on the front rotor were wet so that pointed to an ignition issue on the front rotor. I've changed the plug leads and the dizzy cap but it's still the same...... any other thoughts? Presumably the ignitors are split between leading and trailing, not front to back?

Have you used timing light to see that you are getting spark to each plug?

Coils or coil wires (leading most probably) or ignitor plug connections on the side of the dizzy?
