Quick update. The RX-8 OC are having an active, and very productive, dialogue with the event team at Combe.

So far:
  • the RX-8-OC have been allocated a prime location in the main paddock for their stand and the timeline car display.
  • Combe are happy to co-locate all other rotary car club stands adjacent to the RX-8 OC stand, to form a rotary mini -village.
  • the RX-8 OC have been granted a slow parade lap slot at 12.45pm for up to 60-70 cars, FOC. Arrangements for how this will work to be announced nearer the time.
ian65 and DKWW2000 have kindly accepted an RX-8 OC invitation for their cars (Fb and FC respectively) to be on the display timeline, so they will be included in the RX-8 OC stand arrangements/numbers/space. I'll be on the RX-8 OC stand (with my FB ;) as I'm on their events team :D

There are a couple of stand options for other rx7fb.com attendees; either create an rx7fb.com stand, or you'd be very welcome on the MRC stand (the area for the RX-8 OC is almost full already, with about 75 cars booked!).

Logistically, as there looks like there will only a a small number, it's probably easiest to join the MRC stand?

Is everyone OK with that? If so, I'll post up how to book on the MRC stand later. Otherwise, someone will need to arrange a separate club stand through the Combe website.

That all sounds pretty reasonable to me aye. Nice of the event organisers too! Not sure what I'll be arriving in yet. It won't be my 7 though

If there is anyone else wishing to come along to this major Mazda Rotary celebration event, you can book on to the MRC (Mazda Rotary Club) stand by using this link and code:

https://castlecombecircuit.co.uk/shows/ ... /club-book - then select "Mazdarotaryclub.com" from the list and enter the club code which is : MAZDAJDM

There will be at least 4 other FB's on the MRC stand, plus this stand will be located in a prime site in the main paddock area.

I'll either be on the MRC stand with my FB, or on the adjacent RX-8 OC stand with my RX-8. Most likely my RX-7, but not 100% certain yet as still working out some logistics (I may need to take the RX-8 with it's bigger boot!)

If you intend to show you car at this event, please book in quick - the JDM Combe organisers have recently cut our prime site allocation to make way for extra traders.

We may have to start turning people away soon, as the level of interest has been immense, with over 100 cars booked into the Mazda Rotary "village"!

Hi Malcolm,
Booked just now.
Maybe we could meet up on the way and go in convoy.
I presume you will go A12 M25

Hi Kevin - that's great news

Are you travelling down on the Friday and staying overnight? I'll be going down sometime (time TBD) on the Friday, via A12, M25, M4 and staying at the Premier Inn Chippenham for one night.

P.S. - I hope you can get your exhaust back box sorted ;)

It looks like the attendees from here are:
  1. casey (FB or RX-8, not yet decided)
  2. Threesevens
  3. DKWW2000
  4. Ian65
Kiwi Dave can't make it due to work commitments :(

We also have more FB's from:

Dave Collins
Gavin Barber
Richnzj
MarkP

Plus possibly:

Ian Mothersole

So looking like possibly 8 FB's, plus Pete's FC. I am 90% likely to bring my FB, just trying work out why I have a slight whiff of petrol when I walk into my garage. No drips on the floor anywhere and can't see any leaks. Frustrating, would like to get this sorted before a long trip in possibly very hot weather.

We also have a white Cosmo 110s at the event, albeit likely on static display only. Plus an RX-3, RX-4, and a 13B Eunos Cosmo.

The R100 sadly is unable to make it.

It's looking like ~130 rotaries in total across 4 linked club stands (RX-8OC, MRC, FDOC and Familia)
