Good work there. Satisfying addition to keeping the old girl on the road.

Forgot to mention...

Also changed the Steering idler bushes for Superpro poly ones.

Hasn't made any noticable difference, but then the steering was OK (bushes were 10 years / 10 thousand miles old but the superpro's were only 10 quid). More importantly they are now red to match all of the others.

More noticable was the result of my friend / mechanic Rob putting a screwdriver on the SU carb....

Miss January was going alright but it has been nearly a year now since he rebuilt the carb (and the petrol consumption had gone down to 24/25 instead of 26/27... but I thought that was probably just the way I was driving it....)

And after 5 minutes of fiddling the engine now revs noticably more freely and ticks over better. Easy. With modern "digital" cars one forgets how much "analogue" fiddling we used to have to do with things like SU carbs.

I think it's an admirable trend  The intercooler on my FD isn't quite as beautifully avante-garde as that oil cooler, but it's been noticeably on the piss for years. I figure, hey, it works, and it gives people with little imagination something to talk about at shows  It's a service we provide

A navy coach line for Miss January methinks.
A can of non-degrading (of plastic) dark blue paint for the bushes on show and job's a good 'un.

Nice new cooler should make quite a difference to the oil temp I'd think :)

If its of any value, my cheap chinese radiator also turned up looking a bit like a pringle with an s curve to it. I just bent it back straight and it's always held water fine, so I should think your cooler will hold up.
